CAS:Controlled ProductDimethyl methylphosphonate is a stable chemical compound that is used in analytical chemistry as an internal standard for gas chromatography. The compound is prepared by the reaction of methylphosphonic acid and dimethyl methyl ether. Dimethyl methylphosphonate has been shown to form complexes with various metals, such as aluminum, cadmium, cobalt, copper, iron, lead, nickel, tin, and zinc. These complexes have been shown to be thermally stable up to 400°C. The stability of these compounds makes them useful as model systems for analyzing the reaction mechanisms of other metal-containing compounds. The effectiveness of this method is demonstrated by its application to the analysis of sarin gas samples.
