:Nafarelin
Description:
Nafarelin is a synthetic non-peptide analog of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), primarily used in the treatment of hormone-sensitive conditions such as endometriosis and precocious puberty. It functions as a potent agonist of GnRH receptors, leading to an initial stimulation of gonadotropin release, followed by downregulation of these receptors and a subsequent decrease in the secretion of sex hormones like estrogen and testosterone. Nafarelin is typically administered as a nasal spray or via subcutaneous injection, allowing for effective systemic absorption. The substance is characterized by its ability to modulate hormonal levels, making it valuable in managing conditions driven by hormonal imbalances. Its pharmacokinetics involve rapid absorption and a relatively short half-life, necessitating regular dosing for sustained therapeutic effects. Common side effects may include hot flashes, headaches, and changes in mood, reflecting its impact on the endocrine system. As with any medication, its use should be closely monitored by healthcare professionals to manage potential adverse effects and ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes.

(D-2-Nal⁶)-LHRH
CAS:Nafarelin is a synthetic decapeptide agonist of the luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) which is approximately 200 times more potent than the natural peptide. Like LHRH nafarelin stimulates the release of the gonadotrophins luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) from the anterior pituitary which in turn results in an initial increase of testosterone and estradiol synthesis. Continuous administration of LHRH or one of its analogs causes a sustained down-regulation of circulating LH and FSH levels leading to a suppression of testicular and ovarian steroidogenesis. Currently, nafarelin is indicated for the treatment of endometriosis and for the use in reproductive medicine.
