CAS 7722-88-5
:Tetrasodium pyrophosphate
Description:
Tetrasodium pyrophosphate (TSPP), with the CAS number 7722-88-5, is an inorganic compound commonly used as a food additive, buffering agent, and in various industrial applications. It appears as a white, crystalline powder that is highly soluble in water, forming a clear solution. TSPP is characterized by its ability to act as a sequestrant, effectively binding metal ions and preventing them from interfering with other chemical processes. This property makes it valuable in food processing, where it helps maintain texture and stability in products like processed meats and dairy. Additionally, TSPP is utilized in detergents and cleaning agents due to its ability to soften water and enhance the effectiveness of surfactants. In terms of safety, it is generally recognized as safe when used in appropriate amounts, although excessive consumption may lead to health concerns. Overall, tetrasodium pyrophosphate is a versatile compound with significant applications across food, industrial, and cleaning sectors.

CAS:
Sodium pyrophosphate is an inorganic compound that has the chemical formula NaP2O7. It is used to remove phosphates from wastewater, as a food additive, and as a preservative. Sodium pyrophosphate has been shown to be effective at inhibiting viral replication by interfering with the polymerase enzyme in the virus's RNA. Sodium pyrophosphate also has antiviral prophylactic properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit HIV-1 reverse transcriptase and human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) protease. The inhibition of these enzymes prevents the replication of HIV-1 and reduces the severity of infection. Sodium pyrophosphate also inhibits tumor necrosis factor α (TNFα) production in mice with myocardial infarction and t-cell lymphomas, suggesting possible therapeutic applications for this drug.
Formula:Na4O7P2Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:265.9 g/molTetrasodium Pyrophosphate Anhydrous (TSPP anhy) extrapure, 98%
