Applications Pantothenic Acid is a member of the B complex vitamins; essential vitamin for the biosynthesis of coenzyme A in mammalian cells. Occurs ubiquitously in all animal and plant tissue. The richest common source is liver, but jelly of the queen bee contains 6 times as much as liver. Rice bran and molasses are other good sources.

CAS:D-Pantothenic acid is a vitamin that is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates and fats. It is a cofactor for the synthesis of acetyl-coenzyme A, which is important for energy metabolism. D-Pantothenic acid also participates in the synthesis of hemoglobin and red blood cells, as well as being important for proper nerve function and cell growth. D-Pantothenic acid can be synthesized by humans from pantetheine, which is found in the diet and can be made by bacteria in the intestines. Pantetheine can also be converted to coenzyme A through an intermediate called pantethine. The human body needs both pantethine and pantetheine to produce adequate levels of D-pantothenic acid.
