:5B-pregnane-3B-20A-diol
Description:
5B-pregnane-3B-20A-diol, also known as 20α-hydroxyprogesterone, is a steroid hormone that plays a significant role in various biological processes. It is a derivative of progesterone and is characterized by its specific structural features, including a pregnane backbone with hydroxyl groups at the 3β and 20α positions. This compound is typically found in the adrenal glands and is involved in the regulation of reproductive functions and the menstrual cycle. Its chemical formula reflects its steroidal nature, and it exhibits hydrophobic properties, making it soluble in organic solvents but less so in water. The substance is often studied for its potential therapeutic applications, particularly in reproductive health and endocrinology. Additionally, it may have implications in research related to hormone replacement therapies and the understanding of steroid metabolism. As with many steroid compounds, its biological activity is influenced by its interaction with specific receptors in target tissues.

CAS:Controlled Product
N-({3-Chloro-4-[(4-chlorobenzyl)sulfonyl]phenyl}carbamoyl)-2,6-difluorobenzamide is a prodrug that is metabolized into its active form of clofazimine in the liver by CYP enzymes. Clofazimine has been shown to be effective against leprosy and tuberculoid leprosy. It binds to the bacterial enzyme β-glucuronidase, which hydrolyzes glucuronides in the lysosomes. This leads to accumulation of glucuronide metabolites and inhibition of protein synthesis. Clofazimine also has anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis.
Formula:C21H14Cl2F2N2O4SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:499.32 g/mol
