Aniline blue
CAS:Aniline blue is a fluorescent dye that has been shown to bind to human pathogens such as Mycobacterium tuberculosis, mycobacterium avium, and Helicobacter pylori. It can be used for the detection of these bacteria in clinical samples. Aniline blue binds to the surface of cells using its cationic charge and intercalates into DNA by binding with the phosphate backbone. This binding prevents transcription and replication of DNA, leading to cell death. The surface methodology used in this study was a flow cytometric assay on live cells. The genotoxic effects of Aniline blue were tested using a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique on calf-thymus DNA and human serum samples as model systems. In vitro studies have shown significant cytotoxicity when Aniline blue is incubated with human spermatozoa, which is an in vivo model system.Formula:C32H25N3Na2O9S3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:737.7 g/mol
