Oils, mandarin

Description:
Oils, mandarin, identified by the CAS number 8008-31-9, are essential oils derived from the peel of mandarin oranges (Citrus reticulata). These oils are characterized by their sweet, citrusy aroma, which is both refreshing and uplifting. The primary components of mandarin oil include limonene, gamma-terpinene, and other monoterpenes, contributing to its distinctive scent and potential therapeutic properties. Mandarin oil is known for its calming effects and is often used in aromatherapy to reduce stress and anxiety. Additionally, it possesses antimicrobial and antioxidant properties, making it valuable in cosmetic formulations and natural cleaning products. The oil is typically extracted through cold pressing, ensuring the preservation of its aromatic compounds. Due to its gentle nature, mandarin oil is suitable for use in various applications, including skincare, perfumery, and culinary uses. However, it should be used with caution, as it can cause photosensitivity when applied to the skin before sun exposure. Overall, mandarin oil is a versatile and popular essential oil in both holistic and commercial contexts.

    CAS:

Tangerine oil is an extract of the tangerine peel that contains fatty acids, terpenes and antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to have a broad spectrum of activity against bacteria and fungi. Tangerine oil has been found to be active against Gram-positive bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Enterococcus faecalis, Escherichia coli and Candida albicans. In addition, it shows activity against Gram-negative bacteria such as Salmonella typhi, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The antimicrobial activity of tangerine oil is due to its ability to kill microbes by damaging their cell membranes or by inhibiting their growth. Tangerine oil has also been shown to inhibit the growth of yeast cells in the presence of glucose.
