:Mancozeb
Description:
Mancozeb is a broad-spectrum fungicide widely used in agriculture to control various fungal diseases in crops. It belongs to the dithiocarbamate class of chemicals and is characterized by its ability to inhibit fungal growth by interfering with cellular respiration and enzyme activity. Mancozeb is typically a yellowish-green powder that is soluble in water, making it suitable for application as a foliar spray. Its mode of action involves the release of ethylene thiourea, which is toxic to fungi. Mancozeb is known for its relatively low toxicity to mammals and birds, but it can be harmful to aquatic organisms, necessitating careful handling and application to minimize environmental impact. The substance has a moderate persistence in the environment, and its residues can be monitored in agricultural products to ensure food safety. Due to its effectiveness and relatively low toxicity profile, Mancozeb remains a popular choice among farmers for managing fungal diseases in a variety of crops.

CAS:
Mancozeb is a fungicide that inhibits the growth of fungi by interfering with mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to inhibition of energy metabolism and cell death. Mancozeb has been shown to have minimal toxicity in vivo, with no significant effects on locomotor activity, energy metabolism, or the induction of tumors in a model system. In vitro assays have shown synergistic effects when mancozeb is combined with other antifungal agents such as copper sulfate, cyprodinil, and dichloran. This product may be used for wastewater treatment or for controlling plant diseases.
Formula:C8H12MnN4S8ZnPurity:(Titration) Min 85Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:541.05 g/mol
