Metrenperone was first synthesized in Czechoslovakia by Dr. Karel Hrdina (1914-1987) in 1963. His discovery was based on his observations that when he injected mice with drugs known to cause serotonin toxicity they recovered more quickly than if they had not received metrenperone.br
