Nipradolol has been shown to inhibit the release of cytosolic Ca2+ in intestinal cells by inhibiting the activity of sodium-dependent glucose co-transporter 1 (SGLT1). Nipradolol has also been shown to have antimicrobial activity against bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Salmonella enterica, and Staphylococcus aureus.
