:Teflubenzuron
Description:
Teflubenzuron is a chemical compound classified as a benzoylurea insect growth regulator, primarily used in agricultural applications to control pests. Its mode of action involves the inhibition of chitin synthesis in insects, disrupting their growth and development, particularly during the molting process. Teflubenzuron is characterized by its relatively low toxicity to mammals and birds, making it a preferred choice in integrated pest management systems. It is typically applied in formulations such as emulsifiable concentrates or granules. The compound is stable under normal environmental conditions but may degrade when exposed to extreme pH levels or high temperatures. Its efficacy is influenced by factors such as temperature, humidity, and the life stage of the target pest. Additionally, Teflubenzuron has a low potential for bioaccumulation, which contributes to its environmental safety profile. However, like all pesticides, it should be used according to label instructions to minimize potential risks to non-target organisms and the ecosystem.

CAS:
Teflubenzuron is a fatty acid insecticide that is a member of the thurigens family. It is used to control larvae of moths and flies on agricultural crops, including many vegetable and fruit crops. Teflubenzuron inhibits protein synthesis by binding to the active site of the enzyme epoxidase, which catalyzes the acylation reaction of an epoxide with a hydroxyl group. Teflubenzuron has been shown in vitro to be effective against a range of insects, but not against other organisms such as algae or plants. Teflubenzuron also has no effect on light emission or photosynthesis in plant cells.
Formula:C14H6Cl2F4N2O2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:381.11 g/mol
