CAS 837-83-2
:Glycylprolylalanine
Description:
Glycylprolylalanine, with the CAS number 837-83-2, is a tripeptide composed of three amino acids: glycine, proline, and alanine. As a peptide, it exhibits characteristics typical of amino acid chains, including the ability to form hydrogen bonds and adopt specific conformations due to the presence of proline, which introduces rigidity into the structure. This tripeptide is generally soluble in water, reflecting the polar nature of its constituent amino acids. Glycylprolylalanine may play a role in biological processes, particularly in protein synthesis and cellular signaling, although specific functions can vary depending on the context within biological systems. Its structural properties can influence its interactions with other biomolecules, making it of interest in fields such as biochemistry and pharmacology. Additionally, the stability and reactivity of this peptide can be affected by factors such as pH and temperature, which are important considerations in both laboratory and physiological environments.

CAS:
Gly-Pro-Ala-OH is a tripeptide that can be obtained from the hydrolysis of collagen. It has been shown to have an intestinal uptake and to inhibit the activity of collagenase, which is a proteolytic enzyme that breaks down collagen. Gly-Pro-Ala-OH is also a potential immunoadsorbent. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) revealed that it contains three peptides with molecular weights of 2 kDa, 3 kDa, and 4 kDa. The 2 and 4 kDa peptides are glycyl-l-leucine (GLA) and glycyl-l-leucine - proline - alanine (GPA), respectively. The 3 kDa peptide sequence has not yet been determined. Treatment with trypsin resulted in the release of GLA and GPA without any change in their relative proportions.
Formula:C10H17N3O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:243.26 g/mol
