:(3α,5β)-3-Hydroxycholan-24-oic-2,2,4,4-d4 acid
Description:
(3α,5β)-3-Hydroxycholan-24-oic-2,2,4,4-d4 acid, with the CAS number 83701-16-0, is a deuterated derivative of a bile acid, specifically a modified form of cholanoic acid. This compound features a hydroxyl group at the 3-position and is characterized by the presence of deuterium atoms, which are isotopes of hydrogen, at specific positions in its molecular structure. The incorporation of deuterium can enhance the stability and metabolic tracking of the compound in biological studies. Typically, bile acids like this one play crucial roles in the digestion and absorption of dietary fats and fat-soluble vitamins. They also participate in various physiological processes, including cholesterol metabolism and signaling pathways. The unique structural features of this compound may make it useful in research applications, particularly in studies involving metabolic pathways or the development of pharmaceuticals. Its specific stereochemistry and isotopic labeling can provide insights into its behavior in biological systems.

CAS:Controlled Product
Lithocholic acid-2,2,4,4-d4 (LCA) is a metabolite of the bile acid lithocholic acid. It is formed by cytochrome P450 7A1 (CYP7A1) and has been shown to have synergistic effects with other bile acids. Lithocholic acid-2,2,4,4-d4 is found in humans and animals as a major component of the microbiota. LCAs are involved in the intestinal metabolism of dietary components such as caffeine. LCAs also have metabolic effects on their own that may be due to their interaction with CYP7A1 and CYP27B1 or inhibition of cytochrome P450s 1A2 and 2D6.
Formula:C24D4H36O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:380.6 g/molLithocholic acid-2,2,4,4-d4
