CAS:Diphenyl phthalate is a polarizer that is used to prepare samples in analytical chemistry. It is a solid catalyst and can be used as a matrix effect modifier in the analysis of fatty acid. Diphenyl phthalate has hydroxyl groups, which react with methyl ethyl or other hydroxylic compounds to form hydroxyl ions. These ions can be detected by an analytical method using hemocytes as the indicator. The reaction of diphenyl phthalate with diazonium salt yields a violet color, which can be quantified by measuring the optical density at 660 nm. Solid phase microextraction can also be used to measure diphenyl phthalate in pharmaceutical preparations.
