CAS:
2,5-Diphenyl-p-benzoquinone (DPBQ) is a redox active compound that can be used as an anticoagulant. It has been shown to react with copper oxide to form 2,5-diphenyl-1,4-benzoquinone (DQBQ). This reaction is reversible and the equilibrium constant has been determined at pH 7.0, 25°C and 37°C. The protonation of DQBQ gives 2,5-diphenylhydroquinone (DPHQ), which reacts with ethanol to produce phenol and hydrogen peroxide. DPHQ can also react with liposomes in the presence of hydroxylamine and lead to the release of nitric oxide through oxidation. The rate of this reaction increases when temperature is increased from 20°C to 35°C.
Formula:C18H12O2Purity:90%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:260.29 g/mol
