2',4'-difluoro-4-(phosphonooxy)biphenyl-3-carboxylic acid

Description:
2',4'-Difluoro-4-(phosphonooxy)biphenyl-3-carboxylic acid, with the CAS number 84958-45-2, is a chemical compound characterized by its biphenyl structure, which consists of two phenyl rings connected by a single bond. The presence of two fluorine atoms at the 2' and 4' positions of one phenyl ring contributes to its unique electronic properties, potentially enhancing its reactivity and solubility in various solvents. The phosphonooxy group introduces a phosphonic acid functionality, which is known for its strong acidity and ability to form stable complexes with metal ions. Additionally, the carboxylic acid group at the 3-position provides further acidic characteristics, making the compound useful in various chemical applications, including as a potential herbicide or in the synthesis of other chemical entities. The combination of these functional groups suggests that this compound may exhibit interesting biological activity and could be of interest in pharmaceutical or agrochemical research. Its stability and reactivity would depend on the specific conditions under which it is used.

  • Diflunisal phosphate

    CAS:

Diflunisal phosphate is a non-narcotic analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. It is used to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory diseases of the joints. Diflunisal phosphate inhibits prostaglandin synthesis by competitively inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase, which is responsible for converting arachidonic acid to prostaglandins. Diflunisal phosphate may also inhibit the production of leukotrienes and thromboxanes. Diflunisal phosphate can be used in conjunction with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) or corticosteroids in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. This drug has been shown to have carcinogenic potential in tissue culture studies, but not in animal studies. The clinical pathology studies that were conducted showed no evidence of carcinogenic potential in humans.
