Benzene, 1-iodo-2-(1-methylethoxy)-

Description:
Benzene, 1-iodo-2-(1-methylethoxy)-, also known by its CAS number 857335-90-1, is an organic compound characterized by its aromatic benzene ring substituted with an iodine atom and a 1-methylethoxy group. This compound exhibits typical properties of aromatic compounds, including stability due to resonance and a relatively low reactivity compared to aliphatic compounds. The presence of the iodine substituent can influence the compound's reactivity, making it more susceptible to nucleophilic substitution reactions. The 1-methylethoxy group, which is an ether functional group, contributes to the compound's overall hydrophobic character, affecting its solubility in polar and non-polar solvents. Additionally, the compound may exhibit interesting biological activities, making it of interest in various fields, including medicinal chemistry and materials science. Its physical properties, such as boiling point and melting point, would typically be influenced by the molecular structure and the presence of substituents. Overall, this compound represents a unique combination of functional groups that can lead to diverse applications in chemical synthesis and research.

  • 1-Iodo-2-(propan-2-yloxy)benzene

    CAS:

1-Iodo-2-(propan-2-yloxy)benzene is a protonated aromatic compound that has been synthesized by the palladium-catalyzed reaction of 1,3-dibromopropane and potassium iodide. The elemental analysis of this compound shows the presence of carbon, hydrogen, oxygen and iodine. FTIR experiments have shown that the protonated benzenes are present in this compound. This molecule was isolated with an isolated yield of 40%. The 1H NMR experiment showed that the protons on the aromatic ring were in the meta position.
