2-(2-Methylphenyl)-1-(1-pentyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethanone

Description:
2-(2-Methylphenyl)-1-(1-pentyl-1H-indol-3-yl)ethanone, identified by its CAS number 864445-39-6, is a synthetic organic compound that belongs to the class of indole derivatives. This compound features a ketone functional group, which contributes to its reactivity and potential applications in various chemical reactions. The structure includes a 2-methylphenyl group and a pentyl-substituted indole moiety, indicating a degree of complexity and potential for biological activity. Typically, such compounds may exhibit properties relevant to pharmacology, including interactions with biological receptors or enzymes. The presence of the indole structure often suggests potential psychoactive effects, as many indole derivatives are known for their roles in neurotransmission. Additionally, the compound's lipophilicity, influenced by the pentyl chain, may affect its solubility and permeability in biological systems. Overall, while specific biological activities and applications would require further investigation, the structural characteristics of this compound suggest it may have interesting chemical and pharmacological properties.

    CAS:
JWH-251 is a chemical compound which is an analog of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) that binds to the CB2 receptor. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of human bladder and colon cancer cells in vitro, as well as in mice. JWH-251 is structurally similar to THC but contains a hydroxyl group at the C3 position of its indole ring. This hydroxyl group confers JWH-251 with greater stability in vivo and makes it more potent than THC. JWH-251 has also been shown to be effective against CD1 mice when administered by intraperitoneal injection, especially when combined with other cannabinoids such as cannabidiol. The synthesis of JWH-251 has been described in analytical chemistry articles and has been used as a chemical diversity test for synthetic cannabinoids. JWH-251 was also found to bind to CB2 receptors in rat brain tissues, suggesting that it may have therapeutic use for neurological conditions
