MTQPA binds to the cell nucleus and inhibits transcriptional regulation by binding to the dna template. It has also been shown to have apoptosis pathway activity. MTQPA is also a potential biomarker for cancer tissues and excretory organs. MTQPA can be used in wastewater treatment as an antimicrobial peptide because it has strong antimicrobial activity against Gram+ and Gram− bacteria, fungi, and protozoa.</p>
