:Buparvaquone
Description:
Buparvaquone is a synthetic compound primarily used as an antiprotozoal agent, particularly effective against certain species of the genus Theileria, which are responsible for diseases in livestock. It belongs to the class of compounds known as naphthoquinones and exhibits a mechanism of action that involves the inhibition of mitochondrial respiration in protozoan parasites. Buparvaquone is characterized by its lipophilic nature, which facilitates its absorption and distribution in biological systems. The compound is typically administered in veterinary medicine for the treatment of bovine theileriosis and has shown efficacy in controlling the associated symptoms. Its chemical structure includes a naphthalene ring system, contributing to its biological activity. While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects may occur, and its use is subject to regulatory oversight to ensure safety and efficacy in animal health. As with any pharmaceutical agent, proper dosage and administration guidelines are crucial for maximizing therapeutic benefits while minimizing risks.

CAS:
Buparvaquone is an anti-inflammatory agent that is used in the treatment of infectious diseases caused by leishmania. It has been shown to be effective in vitro and in vivo against Leishmania amazonensis, L. braziliensis, and L. major, but not against L. infantum or L. donovani. Buparvaquone inhibits chemotaxis of white blood cells to inflammatory sites by binding to chemoattractant protein C5a receptors on the surface of these cells, which prevents the recruitment of more inflammatory cells into the site. This drug also inhibits IL-2 receptor activity and has been shown to have a protective effect against acute toxicities when combined with antioxidant vitamins A and E in vitro assays.
Formula:C21H26O3Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:Off-White PowderMolecular weight:326.43 g/mol
