CAS:
2,4-Dinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (DNBS) is a chemical compound used to produce dinitrophenylated antibodies. It has been shown to be an effective and sensitive optical technique for the detection of carbonyl groups on proteins by surface plasmon resonance. DNBS is used at a concentration of 10 mM in phosphate buffer pH 7.0, and the carbonyl groups are detected at 280 nm. The index of carbonylation can be determined by analysing the corneum of mice treated with DNBS and quantifying the amount of protein carbonyl groups. The dihydrate form has been analysed using optical spectroscopy and found to have a resonant wavelength of 462 nm.
Formula:C6H4N2O7SPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:284.2 g/mol2,4-Dinitrobenzenesulfonic Acid xH2O
