2H-1-Benzopyran-6-sulfonamide, 2-oxo-

Description:
2H-1-Benzopyran-6-sulfonamide, 2-oxo- is a chemical compound characterized by its benzopyran structure, which consists of a fused benzene and pyran ring. The presence of a sulfonamide group indicates that it contains a sulfonyl functional group attached to an amine, which can influence its solubility and reactivity. The "2-oxo" designation suggests the presence of a carbonyl group (C=O) at the second position of the benzopyran ring, contributing to its chemical properties and potential biological activity. This compound may exhibit various pharmacological effects, making it of interest in medicinal chemistry. Its specific applications and interactions would depend on its molecular structure and the functional groups present, which can affect its binding affinity to biological targets. Additionally, the compound's stability, solubility, and reactivity can be influenced by environmental factors such as pH and temperature. Overall, 2H-1-Benzopyran-6-sulfonamide, 2-oxo- represents a class of compounds that may have significant implications in drug development and therapeutic applications.

    CAS:

2-Oxo-2H-chromene-6-sulfonamide is a coumarin derivative that has been shown to have pro-apoptotic properties. It induces apoptosis, or programmed cell death, in hepg2 cells by inhibiting the synthesis of proteins that are necessary for the growth and survival of cancer cells. 2-Oxo-2H-chromene-6-sulfonamide also inhibits the function of annexin and mcf7, two proteins involved in apoptosis. This drug has been shown to be effective against breast cancer cells in vitro. In addition, 2-Oxo-2H-chromene-6-sulfonamide has been found to inhibit the growth of human ovarian cancer cells in vivo. The toxicity studies on this drug have not yet been conducted on humans; therefore, it is not approved for use as a therapeutic agent.
