CAS:Diethyl aniline is a colorless liquid that is soluble in organic solvents. It is used to synthesize polycarboxylic acids and as a solvent for paints, dyes, waxes, and other organic compounds. It has been shown to inhibit the synthesis of cholesterol esters by transferring one of its alkyl groups to the ester group on cholesterol. This reaction is catalyzed by enzymes such as cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase. Diethyl aniline can also be used for the preparation of diazonium salts through reactions with sodium nitrite in hydrochloric acid or potassium dichromate in sulfuric acid. The reaction mechanism starts with the oxidation of diethyl aniline to give a diazonium salt intermediate. This intermediate reacts with water and gives hydrogen peroxide as a product. Hydrogen peroxide then reacts with bromoethane, which leads to the formation of another diazonFormula:C10H15NPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:149.23 g/molN,N-Diethylaniline pure, 98%
