N-[3-(Aminomethyl)phenyl]-3-fluorobenzamide is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (AChE) that has been shown to have therapeutic potential in Alzheimer's disease. The affinity of this molecule for AChE is high, with a Kd value of 1.6 nM and an IC50 value of 0.2 μM. N-[3-(Aminomethyl)phenyl]-3-fluorobenzamide has also been shown to be an activator of the ion channel TRPM7, which is involved in pain sensation.
