CAS:4-Chloro-1-butanol (4CB) is an organic compound that forms an acid when dissolved in water. It is produced by the reaction of 3-bromopropylamine hydrobromide with 2,4-dichlorobenzoic acid in the presence of hydrochloric acid. The analytical method for 4CB is chromatographic science, which utilizes a covid-19 pandemic to detect this organic compound. 4CB is tumorigenic and has been shown to increase population growth in cell cultures. This organic compound also denatures proteins and causes tryptophan fluorescence to decrease. As such, it can be used as a titration calorimetry indicator for protein denaturation.Formula:C4H9ClOPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:108.57 g/mol4-Chloro-1-butanol, tech. 85%
