CAS:Nor-acetildenafil is a type of PDE5 inhibitors that are used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Nor-acetildenafil has been shown to be effective in wastewater treatment, and can be used as an analytical method for the determination of dietary supplements. The matrix effect can be minimized by LC-MS/MS methods. Nor-acetildenafil inhibits phosphodiesterase type 5, which is one of the main enzymes responsible for the degradation of cGMP (cyclic guanosine monophosphate). This inhibition leads to an increase in cGMP levels and relaxation of smooth muscle cells in the corpus cavernosum, resulting in penile erection. Nor-acetildenafil has also been shown to have chemical structures similar to sildenafil and carbonyl group.
