CAS 95-93-2
:Durene
Description:
Durene, also known as 1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene, is an aromatic hydrocarbon characterized by its four methyl groups attached to a benzene ring. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature and has a distinctive sweet odor. Durene is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Its molecular formula is C10H14, and it has a relatively high boiling point compared to other simple hydrocarbons, reflecting its stable aromatic structure. Durene is primarily used in the production of various chemicals and as a solvent in organic synthesis. It can also serve as a precursor for the synthesis of certain polymers and resins. Due to its aromatic nature, durene can participate in electrophilic substitution reactions, making it a valuable compound in organic chemistry. However, it should be handled with care, as it may pose health risks upon exposure, including irritation to the skin and respiratory system. Proper safety measures should be taken when working with this substance in laboratory or industrial settings.

CAS:
Trifluoroacetic acid is a chemical compound that is commonly used as an intermediate in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and pesticides. Trifluoroacetic acid is also used for the preparation of 1,2,4,5-tetramethylbenzene (TMMB) which has a variety of uses. The formation rate of TMMB has been shown to increase with increasing temperature and decreasing pH. Trifluoroacetic acid may react with zirconium oxide to form TMMB. This reaction mechanism has been confirmed by NMR spectroscopy data and experimental solubility data. The frequency shift observed in the NMR spectrum corresponds to this mechanism. The low solubility of TMMB in water limits its transport properties. However, it is soluble in organic solvents such as methanol and acetonitrile. TMMB shows no toxicity to human liver cells at concentrations up to 10 mM after 24 hours exposure.br>br>
Formula:C10H14Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:134.22 g/molASTM Method D5769 Aromatics in Finished Gasoline Calibration Level 1 without IS
