CAS:Nifuroxazide is a nitrofuran antibacterial agent that inhibits the synthesis of macromolecules, such as DNA, RNA, and proteins. It is used to treat infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, leprosy, and malaria. Nifuroxazide has also been shown to induce apoptosis in human osteosarcoma cells by inhibiting signal pathways involved in energy metabolism. In addition, nifuroxazide has been shown to inhibit the growth of tumor cell lines in vitro. This drug can be used for the treatment of cancer because it induces pro-apoptotic protein expression and has anticancer activity against a variety of tumor cell lines.
