CAS:Controlled ProductEthylestrenol is a steroid drug that is used to treat infectious diseases. It has been shown to be effective in the specific treatment of urinary tract infections caused by E. coli and Shigella, as well as other types of bacterial infections. Ethylestrenol also has a beneficial effect on symptoms such as fever and chills, as well as on enzyme activities (e.g., alkaline phosphatase) in urine samples from geriatric patients with these types of infections. A decrease in the number of cutaneous lesions and an increase in liver cells have been observed in patients treated with ethylestrenol. In addition, it has been reported that the drug may have a beneficial effect on fatty acid metabolism and autoimmune diseases including diabetes mellitus type I, systemic lupus erythematosus, and rheumatoid arthritis.
