1-Ethoxyvinyltri-n-butyltin

Description:
1-Ethoxyvinyltri-n-butyltin, with the CAS number 97674-02-7, is an organotin compound characterized by the presence of a vinyl group and an ethoxy group attached to a tri-n-butyltin moiety. This compound typically exhibits a colorless to pale yellow liquid form and is known for its applications in various fields, including as a biocide and in polymer chemistry. The presence of the tri-n-butyltin group imparts significant hydrophobic properties, while the ethoxy and vinyl functionalities can facilitate reactions with other organic compounds. It is important to note that organotin compounds can be toxic and may pose environmental risks, particularly in aquatic systems. Therefore, handling and disposal must be conducted with care, adhering to safety regulations. The compound's reactivity can be influenced by factors such as temperature and the presence of other chemical species, making it a subject of interest in both industrial applications and environmental studies.

  • Tributyl(1-ethoxyvinyl)tin

    Controlled Product
    CAS:

Tributyltin is an organotin compound that has low bioavailability because of its high lipophilicity. It is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Tributyltin is a nitrogen-containing chemical that inhibits Cox-2, which may be the reason for its anti-inflammatory effects. Tributyltin also binds to toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), thereby inhibiting downstream inflammatory signaling pathways. Tributyl(1-ethoxyvinyl)tin can be synthesized by a palladium-catalyzed coupling reaction between an alkyl halide and an alkynyl tin reagent. This process produces a mixture of regioisomers, which can be separated using chromatography. In human liver cells, tributyltin is metabolized primarily by conjugation with glucuronides or sulfates followed by excretion in the urine or feces.
