:Estradiol valerate
Description:
Estradiol valerate is a synthetic form of the naturally occurring estrogen estradiol, commonly used in hormone replacement therapy and contraceptive formulations. It is characterized by its esterified form, which enhances its lipid solubility and prolongs its action in the body. The chemical structure consists of a phenolic A-ring, a cyclopentane D-ring, and a valerate ester side chain, which contributes to its pharmacokinetic properties. Estradiol valerate is typically administered via intramuscular injection or oral routes, and it is known for its effectiveness in alleviating menopausal symptoms, regulating menstrual cycles, and supporting reproductive health. The substance is generally well-tolerated, but potential side effects may include nausea, headaches, and changes in mood. As with other estrogens, it is important to monitor for risks associated with long-term use, such as thromboembolic events. Estradiol valerate is classified under the category of steroid hormones and is recognized for its role in various physiological processes, including the regulation of the menstrual cycle and maintenance of secondary sexual characteristics.

CAS:
Estradiol is a form of the hormone estrogen that has been modified to be more lipophilic. It is used in combination with other drugs to treat menopausal symptoms and as an adjuvant for the treatment of breast cancer in women. Estradiol 17-valerate is also used in the treatment of schizophrenia, although not as often as estradiol valerate, because it has a shorter duration of action. The mechanism of action is thought to be due to its ability to increase the concentration of dopamine at nerve terminals by blocking reuptake or inhibiting its metabolism. This may result in relief from distal tubule dysfunction and an improvement in urinary tract symptoms associated with benign prostatic hypertrophy. There are many other possible mechanisms of action including the prevention of bone loss, increased bone age, and increased NMDA receptor binding potentials.
Formula:C23H32O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:356.5 g/mol
