CAS:Controlled Productp-Bromobenzenesulfonyl chloride is an amine that is used as a potential anticancer agent. It is a competitive inhibitor of the enzyme matrix metalloproteinase, which has been shown to be overexpressed in many carcinoma cell lines and may be involved in tumor invasion. p-Bromobenzenesulfonyl chloride has also been shown to inhibit serine proteases and reduce the rate of protein synthesis. This compound has been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier, suggesting it may have therapeutic value for cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis.
