CAS:Buphenin hydrochloride is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat symptoms of infectious diseases. It has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment for people with high blood pressure, and it also has a diuretic effect. Buphenin hydrochloride is structurally related to the NSAIDs ibuprofen and naproxen. It is believed that buphenin hydrochloride may have a number of clinical applications, including being used as an anti-inflammatory agent in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and other auto-immune disorders. This drug has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria by binding to fatty acids in the bacterial cell membrane, which prevents them from forming hydrogen bonds with each other. The antimicrobial activity of buphenin hydrochloride may be due to its ability to disrupt the hydrogen bonding between fatty acids in the bacterial cell membrane.
