Tert-Butyl 5-bromovalerate is also known as tert-butyl 2,5-dibromovalerate or tert-butyl 2,5-dibromoacetate. This chemical can be produced by amidation of tert-butyl 5-(hydroxymethyl)valerate with bromide ions in the presence of methyltransferase and tetrazole.
