CAS:<p>7-Sulfamoylheptanoic acid is an inhibitor of histone deacetylase (HDAC) enzymes. It has been shown to inhibit HDACs 1, 2, 3, and 4 in vitro. 7-Sulfamoylheptanoic acid can also inhibit the acetylation of α-tubulin in vitro. This inhibition may be due to its ability to bind to the active site of the enzyme and competitively inhibit the binding of acetylated lysine residues. 7-Sulfamoylheptanoic acid also inhibits the growth of hct116 cells.
