CAS:3-Bromo-1H-indazole-7-carboxylic acid (3BI) is a potent and selective inhibitor of the NADPH oxidase. 3BI binds to the active site of the enzyme, preventing it from accepting electrons. It has been shown that 3BI inhibits both constitutive and inducible forms of NADPH oxidase with similar potency. The compound also shows selectivity for NADPH oxidase over other enzymes such as xanthine oxidoreductase and cytochrome P450 reductase.
