CAS:<p>Imdk is a model system for the study of antitumor response. It has been shown to inhibit tumor growth in mice when combined with temozolomide treatment. Imdk also inhibits epidermal growth factor (EGF) and cancer cell proliferation. Imdk is an inhibitor of protein kinase C, which may be responsible for its antitumor effects. The mechanism by which Imdk inhibits EGF is not known but may be due to its ability to induce p21 expression in caco-2 cells, which causes the cell cycle arrest.
