<p>2-Chloro-N-(2-methoxyphenyl)acetamide (CMPA) is a bioactive molecule that has been shown to be effective against colon cancer cells. CMPA has antimicrobial and anticancer activity, inhibiting the growth of tumor cell lines and inducing apoptosis in cancer cells. It also inhibits gram-negative bacteria, including E. coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The compound has been reported to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Chemical analysis revealed that CMPA contains a benzimidazole ring with an amide moiety. The molecular weight of CMPA is 220.2 g/mol, which corresponds to the molecular formula C14H14ClNO3.</p>

2-Chloro-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide is an antibacterial agent that binds to the bacterial ribosome and prevents protein synthesis. 2-Chloro-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide has been shown to be active against both Gram positive and negative bacteria, including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Enterococcus faecalis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Klebsiella pneumoniae. The mechanism of action for 2-chloro-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)acetamide is not well understood, but it may involve binding to the ribosomal RNA in the bacterial cell. This binding blocks the formation of an antibiotic-ribosome complex that is required for translation of mRNA into protein.
