
Nucleósidos y Nucleótidos
Los nucleósidos son compuestos formados por una base nitrogenada unida a una azúcar (ribosa o desoxirribosa). Cuando un grupo fosfato se añade al nucleósido, se forma un nucleótido. Estos compuestos son fundamentales en la biología celular, ya que los nucleótidos son los bloques básicos del ADN y ARN, responsables de almacenar y transmitir información genética. Los nucleósidos tienen aplicaciones en el tratamiento de enfermedades virales, como inhibidores de la replicación viral. Los nucleótidos, además de su rol estructural en los ácidos nucleicos, intervienen en procesos energéticos, como en la síntesis de ATP.
