Difluoro atorvastatin is a filtrate of atorvastatin, which is a cholesterol-lowering drug. It is synthesized by reacting butyric acid with atorvastatin in an organic solvent. The reaction solution was filtered to remove impurities and then purified by liquid chromatography. The product was characterized by diffraction and LC-MS analysis.
