- pyruvate phosphotransferase (EC 2.7.1.40)
Pyruvate kinase (PK) is one of the glycolysis enzymes. It catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) to ADP, yielding a pyruvate molecule and producing one molecule ATP. PK from Cymit Quimica can be used for enzymatic determination of ADP, ATP, pyruvate or phsphoenolpyruvate (PEP) when coupled with the related enzymes.
Molecular weight: 237 kDa (as a tetramer of four equal subunits 57 kDa)
Reaction: ATP + pyruvate = ADP + phosphoenolpyruvate
