Azamulin is a p-glycoprotein (p-gp) inhibitor that belongs to the family of antimicrobial agents. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on drug efflux mediated by p-gp, which is a membrane protein that pumps out drugs from cells. Azamulin also inhibits the production of ATP in vitro and has been shown to be active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including those resistant to fluconazole. This drug has been tested in vivo using human pharmacokinetic studies, but there are no toxicity studies or interactions with other medications.
