Product Information

Name:
Alamethacin
Synonyms:
  • U-22324
  • Alamethicin
Description:

Alamethacin is a drug that belongs to the class of p-nitrophenyl phosphate. It inhibits the activity of the enzyme, p450, which is responsible for many drug-metabolizing reactions. Alamethacin has been shown to inhibit the production of collagenase in kidney fibrosis and intermolecular hydrogen bonding in infectious diseases. The compound also has pluripotent properties and can be used as a model system for studying cellular proliferation and differentiation. Alamethacin has been shown to have an x-ray crystal structure that allows for modeling of chemical interactions with biomolecules such as proteins or DNA. This property makes it an excellent candidate for drug discovery applications.
