Description:
2,3,4,6-Tetrachlorophenol is a chlorinated phenolic compound that is used as an industrial chemical. It has been shown to be toxic to the environment and its use is restricted in many countries due to its carcinogenic properties. 2,3,4,6-Tetrachlorophenol can be analyzed by solid phase microextraction (SPME). The extraction of 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol from soil samples was performed using SPME with 100 mg of sodium carbonate and 20 mg of anhydrous sodium as the sorbent. This extraction technique was found to be effective for the analysis of 2,3,4,6-tetrachlorophenol in both water and soil samples.
