Description

Morphine is an opioid that binds to the δ-opioid receptors, which are involved in the transmission of pain. Morphine sulfate solution is used for the treatment of chronic cough, acute and chronic pain, and diarrhea. Morphine sulfate solution has been shown to have a strong anti-inflammatory effect by inhibiting the production of metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9), which is implicated in inflammation and tumor invasion. Morphine sulfate solution also exhibits antioxidant activity by scavenging anion radicals, which are generated as a result of oxidative stress.
