1(2H)-Phthalazinone, hydrazone is a chemical compound that is used as a catalyst in wastewater treatment. It can be used to treat heart disease. Hydralazine is an antihypertensive drug that works by relaxing the muscles of blood vessels and reducing peripheral vascular resistance. The rate constant for this reaction has been shown to be 0.019 s-1. Drug interactions have been observed with hydralazine hydrochloride, which may affect its effectiveness at inhibiting platelet aggregation and increasing blood pressure. Hydralazine hydrochloride inhibits guanine nucleotide-binding proteins and controls the synthesis of inhibitor molecules, including prostaglandins, nitric oxide, and hydrogen peroxide.
