Quadrol is an organic compound that exists in two forms: the sodium form and the ammonium form. The ammonium form is more soluble in water than the sodium form. Quadrol can be used as a buffer solution for histochemical staining and as a chemical stabilizer for biological samples. It also has been shown to have some anti-inflammatory properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis. Quadrol is used as an adsorbent of water vapor in skin creams, and it has been shown to increase epidermal growth factor production.
