2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate Monomer is an acrylate monomer. It is chemically stable and has a phase transition temperature of 68 °C. 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate Monomer has been shown to be toxic in a dose-dependent manner, with its most common side effect being allergic reactions. It has been shown to cause skin irritation, erythema, and contact dermatitis in humans. 2-Ethylhexyl Acrylate Monomer can be used as a monomer for polymers that are insoluble in water and are typically found in coatings or adhesives. This monomer also reacts with fatty acids to form esters which are soluble in organic solvents. The polymerization process can be initiated by boron nitride or alkanoic acid.
