2-Phenylethyl Isobutyrate (2PEIB) is a film-forming polymer that belongs to the group of fatty acids. It is an active substance that has been used as a cross-linking agent in polyurethane foams and as an ester compound in perfumes. The structural formula of 2PEIB is CH3(CH2)6CO2C8H14O2. The phase transition temperature of 2PEIB is 102°C. This product also contains salicylaldehyde, phenylethyl, and methyl anthranilate. 2PEIB can be found in fructus propionate.
