It also has a boiling point of 107°C at 760 mm Hg pressure. 2-Hydroxypropane-1,3-diyl diacetate has been shown to inhibit the growth of viruses such as penciclovir and famciclovir in the laboratory, but more research on its effectiveness in humans needs to be done before it can be approved for use in people.
